7A.1 Introduction

The transition from anatomical organization to topical formulation requires a standardized design pathway.

Within the SIRIAM platform, this pathway is referred to as the Neurodermal Application Architecture.

Rather than designing a formulation by selecting ingredients first, SIRIAM begins with anatomy.

Every formulation is therefore the final outcome of a structured sequence that starts with the Metameric Framework and progressively evolves towards a finished topical formulation.

This design philosophy ensures consistency, reproducibility and scalability throughout the platform.

This sequence is mandatory for all SIRIAM formulations.

Ingredient selection is therefore considered the consequence of anatomical and functional design rather than its starting point.

7A.3 Application Field

Each SIRIAM formulation is linked to one standardized Application Field (AF).

The Application Field represents the principal anatomical region selected during Segment Prioritization.

All subsequent documentation remains linked to this same Application Field throughout the lifecycle of the formulation.

7A.4 Neurodermal Application Zones (NAZ)

Each Application Field is subdivided into one or more Neurodermal Application Zones (NAZs).

A Neurodermal Application Zone is defined as:

A standardized anatomical subregion within an Application Field that corresponds to a reproducible neurodermal territory and serves as the practical site of topical application.

Each NAZ is described according to the same documentation standard:

application instructions.

Together, the NAZs constitute the complete Application Field.

7A.5 Example — OAA Application Field

The OAA Application Field consists of four standardized Neurodermal Application Zones.

NAZ-1 — Suboccipital

Location:

Inferior occipital region immediately beneath the hairline.

Primary structures:

C0–C2 transition

Greater occipital nerve

Suboccipital musculature

NAZ-2 — Retroauricular

Location:

Posterior to the auricle.

Primary structures:

C2 dermatome

Lesser occipital nerve

Great auricular nerve

This zone forms the principal dermatomal reference of the OAA Application Field and corresponds to the C2 application region illustrated in the current documentation.

NAZ-3 — Submandibular

Location:

Inferior mandibular border extending from the mandibular angle towards the chin.

Primary structures:

Mandibular branch of the trigeminal nerve

N. mylohyoideus

Submandibular connective tissue

Purpose:

Anterior neurodermal integration zone.

NAZ-4 — Pre-SCM

Location:

Upper anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.

Primary structures:

Cervical plexus

Great auricular nerve

Superficial cervical fascia

Purpose:

Transition zone between posterior cervical and anterior cervical components.

7A.6 Application Sequence

Following identification of the Application Field and its corresponding NAZs, the topical formulation is applied according to a standardized Application Sequence.

The Application Sequence specifies:

reassessment intervals.

This ensures that every patient receives a reproducible application strategy independent of the individual formulation.

7A.8 Relationship with the Product Passport

The Product Passport no longer describes only the product.

Instead, it documents:

the AFRS.

The formulation itself becomes only one component of a broader anatomical application system.

  • anatomical boundaries;
  • dermatomal reference;
  • principal neural structures;
  • connective tissue context;
  • anatomical illustration;
  • order of application;
  • amount of formulation;
  • frequency;
  • Release or Integration phase;
  • the Application Field;
  • the Neurodermal Application Zones;
  • the Application Sequence;
  • the DUO phase;
  • patient instructions;

Chapter Summary

Within the SIRIAM platform, every topical formulation originates from anatomy.

The Metameric Framework defines the Application Field, which is subdivided into standardized Neurodermal Application Zones. These zones are organized into an Application Sequence that determines how the DUO Principle is implemented. Only after this anatomical and functional architecture has been established is the formulation designed and the active ingredients selected.

This design philosophy distinguishes the SIRIAM platform from conventional product-based topical systems by placing anatomy, rather than ingredients, at the center of formulation development.
